The Nights of Archaeology: The Etruscans and their legacy
Art, Culture and History
The Palazzo Corboli Museum is pleased to once again open its doors this year for the Nights of Archaeology, with a program full of art, culture, and history.
PROGRAM:
Sunday, July 6, 2025, at 5:30 PM – ROMAN SIENA, RES MILITARIA
Book presentation by Fabrizio Casprini and Marco Saliola, offering an in-depth look at the latest research on the mask helmets from Rapolano Terme. With a rigorous and detailed method, the two scholars examine key artifacts from the ager senensis and attempt to interpret their history, recontextualizing them within the period in which they were produced and used.
On one side, the bronze masks from Rapolano; on the other, the stele of Lucius Anaenius Pas(s)er—both connected to events that enrich our understanding of Roman Siena—become the focus of a study exploring a historical context that, in fact, has left few traces behind. The comparative analysis of archaeological and documentary evidence defines the typologies of the artifacts and their iconography, leading to new and intriguing interpretative insights.
Friday, July 18, 2025, at 5:30 PM
Public presentation of the “visitASCIANO” project, aimed at promoting the territory and local culture. The project is funded by the Ministry of the Interior, Department for Internal and Territorial Affairs, through the “Fund for the Support of Small and Medium-Sized Art Cities and Villages.”Sunday, August 3, 2025, at 5:30 PM – ETRUSCAN GOLDSMITHING AND PLANTS
