In Asciano, the “Town of Courtesy” and heart of the Crete Senesi, the inauguration of the artistic route SERRAND’ART will take place on Saturday, July 5th, along Corso Matteotti, formerly known as Via Lauretana (Siena–Arezzo stretch).
This is a painted itinerary made up of decorated shop shutters, each featuring the theme of pilgrimage throughout history along the Via Lauretana. The choice to tell the story of this ancient road through painted images aims to renew the historic connection between the Town of Courtesy and the many travelers—artists, merchants, and pilgrims from all walks of life—who have passed through over the centuries.
The project, organized by the ARCA Association of Asciano with support from the local government (Tourism Department), also seeks to enhance the beauty and decor of the historic center. There is hope that these painted shutters may one day reopen to new businesses and fresh life, bringing back the flow of visitors who continue to be enchanted by the area's stunning landscapes.
