Crete Senesi: the Summer Solstice
Sunset at the Geosite of the Biancane of Leonina
A trek through the Crete Senesi to enjoy the sunset during the Summer Solstice, immersed in one of the most enchanting landscapes in Tuscany. This area, composed predominantly of clay, is a remnant of what was once an ancient seabed.
Its gently rolling hills, scattered farmhouses, and distinctive morphology reveal a unique landscape shaped by time and human hands.
We will walk through its natural beauty, engaging in a guided visit of the Biancane Geosite of Leonina, which tells the story of the land’s evolution and the forces that influenced the lives of the people who once inhabited it. All of this within a fairytale-like and evocative setting, where we’ll find inspiration to embrace the silence.
The excursion will continue with the discovery of a work of art that harmonizes perfectly with the unique landscape of the Crete Senesi: the Site Transitoire, a sculpture by French artist Jean-Paul Philippe.
