Asciano Sound Festival

Asciano Suono Festival is an immersive cultural project exploring the relationship between sound, nature, and listening, set within the unique landscape of the Crete Senesi in Tuscany.

Now in its 5th edition, the festival returns in 2026 with the theme “The Sound of Light”, offering a program of site-specific concerts, performances, and encounters that bring artists and audiences together in a shared sensory experience.

Events take place across villages, churches, squares, and natural spaces throughout Asciano, with performances at dawn, sunset, and in the evening. The journey culminates on 19 July 2026 with the final event at the Anfiteatro delle Crete, an open-air natural amphitheatre dedicated to music and deep listening.

Produced by the Asciano Suoni Arti e Culture E.T.S. Association in collaboration with the Municipality of Asciano, the festival continues to grow as a unique experience where landscape and music become one.

PROGRAM:

- 15 July, 9:30 PM – Piazza della Repubblica, Arbia
Saxofollia in Concert – A saxophone quartet performing music by Puccini, Morricone, Porter, and Galliano.

- 16 July, from 8:00 PM – Village of Chiusure
Jazz Night – A special project featuring Carlo Ponte on trumpet, Antonio Senerchia on guitar, Francesco Calchetti on drums, and Lorenzo Piccini on electric bass.

- 17 July, 7:15 PM–8:15 PM – Agriturismo Poggio d’Arno
Tango Stories at Sunset – A concert dedicated to Nuevo Tango and the music of Astor Piazzolla, featuring Alessandra Ziveri on harp and Andrea Coruzzi on bandoneon and accordion.

- 17 July, 9:30 PM – Basilica of Sant’Agata
Fudendaiko – A performance of Japanese taiko drums by the Fudenji Temple ensemble.

- 17 July, 10:00 PM – Basilica of Sant’Agata
Migrantes – A piano and oud concert with Andrea Manzoni and Mauro Sigura, blending jazz, European experimentation, and Mediterranean and Arab-Ottoman musical traditions.

- 18 July, 7:15 PM–8:15 PM – Podere Casa Insieme
New Lights – A concert featuring four young European musicians selected through an artistic residency and training programme.

- 18 July, 9:30 PM – Basilica of Sant’Agata
Summer Songbook – A solo piano concert by Cesare Picco, combining composition, improvisation, and summer-inspired atmospheres.

- 19 July, 7:00 PM–9:00 PM – Crete Senesi Amphitheatre
All the Lights of the World – The festival’s closing event featuring Paola Turci, Cesare Picco, Nevio Vitali with Sufi dance, and the string quartet of the Italian Philharmonic Orchestra.

All events are free of charge, except for the final event on 19 July.
