Amico Museo

  • Tradition and Art in Asciano

Art, tradition and creativity return to the spotlight in Asciano on the occasion of Amico Museo and Buongiorno Ceramica, with a wide-ranging programme of exhibitions, guided tours and activities for all ages taking place over several weeks.

Recognised as a City of Ceramics, Asciano renews its connection with a tradition that represents a fundamental part of the area’s history and identity, offering visitors continuous opportunities for discovery and participation within its museum spaces.

At the heart of the programme is the exhibition “Ceramic Incursions. Hunt for the Intruder Among the Museum Display Cases”, included within the archaeological route and open until 28 June, created in collaboration with the Associazione Arte dei Vasai della Nobile Contrada del Nicchio of Siena. In this special exhibition, ceramic works from Centuripe blend into the museum’s permanent collections, creating a visual dialogue in which visitors are invited to identify the “intruders” through careful observation.

Alongside the exhibition, the programme also features activities designed for different audiences, including A Night at the Museum”, with evening guided tours led by students from the “Luigi Magi” lower secondary school, and “GiocaCeramica”, a creative workshop for children aimed at introducing them to the world of ceramics in a playful and engaging way.

A rich calendar of events that invites residents and visitors alike to experience the museums, discover the local area and enjoy engaging cultural activities open to everyone.
