700 Years of Art for the Olivetan Monks
The Middle Ages
A new exhibition is on display in the Ancient Library and the Chapter House of Monte Oliveto Maggiore, dedicated to the relationship between the Benedictine Olivetan Congregation and medieval artists. The exhibition, enriched with artworks, explanatory panels, and a video, is open daily until 27 September 2026, including religious and public holidays.
The project inaugurates a new cycle of cultural initiatives (2026–2028) and explores the link between monastic life and artistic production through illuminated manuscripts, medieval metalwork, paintings, and valuable historical testimonies preserved over time.
