Here we go! Once again this year, one of Asciano’s most beloved traditions returns: the Palio dei Ciuchi 2025, organized by the  Contrade di Asciano association with the patronage of the Municipality of Asciano.

Here is the official program:

Saturday, August 30, from 6:00 PM – historic center- White Night: an evening of music, celebration, and entertainment with food stands, markets, and fun activities for all ages.

Wednesday, September 3, 9:00 PM – Basilica of Sant’Agata- Presentation of the Palio

Sunday, September 7 – Camparboli, Church of the Madonna del Giardino - Festa del Nocino: traditional games, convivial moments, and entertainment for the little ones.

Saturday, September 13 – Stadio G. Marconi - 9:00 AM – Selection heats for the participating donkeys (“ciuchi”) - 12:00 PM – Assignment of the donkeys to the different Contrade (districts)

Sunday, September 14 – Corso Matteotti - 3:30 PM – Start of the historic parade with participants in period costumes - 6:00 PM – 47th Palio dei Ciuchi at Stadio G. Marconi, the much-anticipated final race!

The Palio dei Ciuchi is at the heart of Asciano’s social life—a moment of sharing and togetherness where the seven Contrade shine, representing the very pillars of local identity.
