Monte Oliveto Maggiore Abbey, under the patronage of the Municipality of Asciano, is pleased to host, on the occasion of the solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul, the prestigious choir of the Escolania de la Santa Cruz del Valle de los Caídos (Spain – Madrid region) for a concert of sacred music in Gregorian chant and polyphony.

Founded to animate the liturgy of the Benedictine Abbey of the Holy Cross, the Escolania is a refined boys’ choir composed of young students who, in addition to academic and musical training, receive spiritual education closely connected to the monastic community.

The concert will take place on June 29 at 4:00 PM, in the church of the Archicenobium of Monte Oliveto Maggiore. The program will feature a selection of Gregorian chant and sacred polyphony, offering a rare moment of beauty and musical contemplation in one of the most evocative places of Benedictine spirituality.

Additionally, the choir will participate in the 11:00 AM Mass, partly leading the celebration together with the monastic community.

This is a spiritual and cultural event of great significance, open to all lovers of sacred music, contemplative silence, and liturgical tradition.
