It was owned by the important Francini Family, well known ceramics makers since the1700s, whose fame spread beyond Tuscany.
Inside the Cathedral of Saint Agatha, it’s still possible to admire one of their masterpieces: the Via Crucis, realized with 14 tablets in polychrome terracotta (earthenware).
Asciano ceramics tradition, had been known since Medieval Ages and it can be admired both in Palace Corboli Museum and in the British Museum of London, where a few items are preserved and also in the International Ceramics Museum in Faenza.
